Park manages more Aboriginal groups for which this area has a religious
meaning and entail. It is generally banned photographing of their
holy sites in and around Uluru which limits the movement of tourists
to the area around Uluru in one way, some selected caves and climbing to the
top. Rules of conduct for tourists are very restrictive, and
noncompliance is punished with very high fines. It prohibits scientific
research, taking material from the ground, gathering in the groups larger than
15 people. The scarce vegetation of the park is inhabited by 22 species of
native mammals and more than 150 species of birds.
