Qatar Airways To Start Flying To Serbia And Poland By End Of 2012

Qatar Airways announced further expansion to its European network with the launch of scheduled flights to Serbia and Poland by the end of the year taking the airline’s coverage across the Continent to 32 destinations.

Services to the previously announced destination of Belgrade, capital of Serbia, have been confirmed for a November 20 start with a thrice-weekly schedule via Ankara. Two weeks later, beginning December 5, the airline will add the Polish capital Warsaw to its rapidly growing European network operating flights four-times-a-week.

News of the expansion follows this week’s announcement by Qatar Airways that it will begin daily flights to Chicago – the carrier’s fourth USA gateway – from April 10 next year. Both the Belgrade and Warsaw routes will be operated from Qatar Airways’ Doha hub with an Airbus A320 configured in two classes – 12 seats in Business and 132 in Economy. Each seat features an interactive audio and video entertainment system offering hundreds of movies, TV programmes and music channels.
Since the beginning of 2012, Qatar Airways has launched flights to Baku (Azerbaijan); Tbilisi (Georgia); Kigali (Rwanda); Zagreb (Croatia), Erbil (Iraq), Baghdad, Perth (Australia) and Kilimanjaro (Tanzania).

I had a great time in London last weekend. I`ve thought of writing more about what we did, what we saw... and I did write couple of stories (one was even published on sport portal Sportnet.hr (Rukometna razglednica iz Londona) and I wrote about ten sites that we visited in London. I event put the map of our route through London.

So, if you wanna see more pictures of London and get inspired, go check out my blog POSVUDUSHA. The text is in Croatian but soon I will put it in English. Till then, enjoy the pictures.

Thank you London for Olympic games!

I was in London this weekend and must say I had a great time!

I went to see the handball semifinals and finals. Croatian team played with France (but unforunately lost in semifinals) and Hungary (we won in finals for bronze medal). Besides this great sports event that is "a must" if you like sports, the Olympics are the biggest world event that gathers people from all over the world. You can realy feel this unity between people and everyone is happy, enjoying themselfes, smiling... It is a great experience.

The finals for the bronze are just about to start (Croatia - Hungary)

MY WAKEBOARD ADVENTURE

Wakeboard (Cable Wakeboard) is similar to snowboarding - a skier has a board attached to his feet and in this case he uses water surface for boarding or skiing. Skier is of course holding the handle which is tied to the cable pulled by the electric motor. Given my own experience and examples of other participants, wakeboarding is extremely easy to learn and after just a few rides most of the people get on their feet fast and enjoy the ride.

Experienced boarders do all sorts of stunts, from jumping, riding backward, back flips... whatever they are willing to try. If a wakeboard park is very well equipped and it will probably have water ramps that can be used by experienced boarders for more attractions and jumps.

Varaždin Aquacity is an excellent substitute for the sea, especially if you're not going there, if you`re a short of money or the sea-side is not in near. Given the summer heat, Varaždin is excellent refreshments for Zagreb citizens who can Jarun or Bundek replace with this one-day trip.
How does it feel to wakeboard? Great! I have to admit, while falling couple of times I drank a lot of water and some of the falls were a bit painful. However, the brave do not give up and enjoy another water activity!

Wakeboarding is an extremely young sport - appeared in 1984. In Croatia, wakeboard became popular in the last few years and there are a few lifts: in Porec, on the island of Krk and Pag, and now we have a lift in Aquacity Varazdin and on Jarun in Zagreb.

What does cost this escapade? Price in Varazdin is 50 kn (about 7 euro)  for 15 minutes or 100 kn (about 14 euro) for half an hour. Good thing is that you don`t have to spend all the time at once but in several occasions. For beginners learning and the first ride is free. Lift works every day from 12-20 p.m.

Just another activity you have to try! And one more thing, if you are not in good shape, then certainly expect sore muscles. I feel the pain for the second day now.

Uluru / Ayers Rock, Australia

I love to explore the world looking for the great nature wonders. Today I represent Kata Tjuta in Australia.

National Park Uluru - Kata Tjuta / Photo: Corey Leopold/ Flickr

... located in the National Park Uluru - Kata Tjuta, named by the megalithic structures. Park manages more Aboriginal groups for which this area has a religious meaning and entail. It is generally banned photographing of their holy sites in and around Uluru which limits the movement of tourists to the area around Uluru in one way, some selected caves and climbing to the top. Rules of conduct for tourists are very restrictive, and noncompliance is punished with very high fines. It prohibits scientific research, taking material from the ground, gathering in the groups larger than 15 people. The scarce vegetation of the park is inhabited by 22 species of native mammals and more than 150 species of birds.

SkyWork Airlines with 16 connecting flights

The Berne-based carrier SkyWork Airlines is offering 16 connecting flights on its existing route network. This means for example that SkyWork passengers can travel directly from Belgrade to London City via Berne. Passengers reap the benefit of very short transfer times and routes.

For example, they can fly from Thessaloniki to Cologne or from Split to Berlin-Schönefeld as well as in the reverse direction.
Thanks to the new connecting flights in the current summer flight schedule, SkyWork Airlines customers are able to get to their final destination via Berne, without the hustle and bustle of the big airports. Passengers need not worry about their baggage either – this is automatically reloaded in the correct aircraft in Berne. “This is another consequence of our best cost strategy. We offer our guests attractive connecting flights at fair prices and a stress-free travel experience”, SkyWork Airlines CEO Tomislav Lang sums up. The new connecting flights can be booked on line as of today.
